In Between
Project Text (ENG):
In Between was a 45-minute music-theatre performance for and by children 4+, developed with the director Theresa von Halle, Kulturforum 21 (esp. Dr. Bettina Knauer). and St. Joseph's School, Wandsbek. It focussed on the phenomenon of listening and though the act, making the everyday acoustic experience into an artwork. This was developed along the lines of the philosophy of the visual artist Florian Slotawa and his Stuttgart Sichten, which explored this theme via sculpture. The music-theatre was then performed in the Deichtorhallen, where Stuttgart Sichten was being exhibited at the same time.
The premiere was in the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg's premier contemporary art museum on 12.01.2019.

Eine faszinierende Reise durch Hör-, Klang- und Kunstwelten – geführt von Kindern. Mehrere Monate haben sich Grundschüler aus Wandsbek zu Hör- und Klangexperten ausgebildet, haben aus Geräuschen ihrer Alltagswelt ihre Musik komponiert und sie zuletzt auf Skulpturen der Ausstellung FLORIAN SLOTAWA: STUTTGART SICHTEN übertragen. Ein Musiktheater in between.

Das vom Kulturforum21 und den Deichtorhallen Hamburg initiierte Musiktheaterprojekt wurde vom Bundesbildungsministerium („Kultur macht stark – Bündnisse für Bildung“) – Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband – gefördert.
