Musiktheater, Oper, szenische bzw. multimediale Konzerte, Tanztheater und Film sind wichtige Medien meines bisherigen künstlerischen Werdegangs. Durch längere dramaturgische Formen und die Miteinbeziehung von nicht-musikalischen Elementen eröffnen sich Strukturen der motivischen Brüchigkeit und stilistischen Kontraste, die nicht (oder nur sehr schwer) durch reine Konzertmusik erzählt werden können.

Von daher komponiere ich Werke für unterschiedliche Kontexte, darunter solche, die sich an ein junges und/oder unerfahrenes Publikum richten, sowie an Publikum, die zum ersten Mal eine Oper oder ein Musiktheater hören (z.B. Die Schneekönigin, Vom Fallen und Steigen), während andere sich an ein spezielleres Publikum für zeitgenössische klassische Musik richten (z.B. I.th.Ak.A.).

​BITTE STÖR MICH, 2016
​An awareness campaign from the Bavarian Ministry for Health combatting depression. Directed by Oliver Mohr with a voiceover by Philipp Moog. Music and sound design by Samuel Penderbayne.

Feature film (60m) by Viki Alesandrovic, 2016. The film was featured in the swiss international documentary film festival Vision du Réel. Music and sound design by Samuel Penderbayne.

​UTOPIE DER UNTERSCHIEDE, 2015
Short Film (20m) by Annika Sehn and Viki Alesandrovic. Musical themes are pared with repeating visual sequences to create a sense of development through an otherwise freely devised exploration of gender identity in modern Germany. ​Music and sound design by Samuel Penderbayne.

VORHAND, 2014
Short Film (20m) by Florian Seufert. Vorhand is a grotesque and gritty movie involving a white truck full of dead bodies, a powerful tennis ball machine, people who don't talk much and Steffi Graf. Music and sound design by Samuel Penderbayne and Cico Beck.

PAMPARIOS, 2018
Feature Film (60m) by Florian Seufert. The director creates a fictitious version of himself. His Alter Ego uses an actual family party in the German countryisde for a silent farewell. He wants to build a new life in the high mountains of Jalisco, México living with the indigenous Huicholes. Here, they use the blood of animals to ask for a fertile land. At night Shamans connect with the hidden realms of ghosts and their ancestors. The circle of life and death is a natural part of daily life and he (Florian) becomes more and more estranged from his old self. Can there be change beyond the sense of self realization? A tale from the animal world hints at the chance for a real transformation.
