Full-length Concert: Reeperbahn Festival 2017

Samuel Penderbayne's new band project Sam Panda and the Teeth gave its debut concert (70M) in the Reeperbahn Festival 2017, performing new settings of five of Shakespeare's Sonnets and four songs from his plays. In addition, a range of new covers were played, including songs by Radiohead, Roger Quilter, The Knive and Alabama Five as well as traditionals.

Sam Panda and the Teeth is a Prog-/Art-Rock Band based in Hamburg, Germany. It is influenced by bands such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Alt-J, The Doors and The Knife, musical theatre composers like Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein and classical composers like Franz Schubert, Benjamin Britten and Leos Janacek. The music strives to push the boundaries of what is considered Rock, Mainstream and/or Classical, slipping between the cracks of genres and using cryptic, multi-layered texts. In essence, Sam Panda and The Teeth is a bridge between progressive band music and the classical music tradition.
